Linda C. Kim was an excellent and loving piano educator. She was always anxiously engaged in helping students and the community appreciate, value, and love music in the manner she had. She did not receive a college education until after all six of her children were attending school. After that she received a BA in Music from the University of Hawaii. She also went on to receive a Masters in Ethno-Musicology from the UH as well.
Her piano studio is located in Mililani, where she taught at for 25 years prior to her passing. She would constantly be teaching at full capacity at 50 students per week. On top of her piano studio she also taught a complimentary piano class once a week to members from church who wanted to learn piano basics. In the last four years of her life, after being recruited by Brigham Young University Hawaii, she became an associate professor to teach piano to pedagogy students.
Thank you all for your love and support! Our mother loved teaching piano and loved her students, thank you so much for being such an important part of her life and celebrating her Piano Studio’s 25th anniversary.
